When your claim for Long Term Disability benefits has been denied, or wrongfully terminated, it is important to find a law firm that has extensive experience handling LTD claims, appeals and lawsuits. The disability lawyers at Evensen Law Office help disabled persons secure their Long Term Disability (“LTD”) insurance benefits. We prepare and file your internal appeal and maximize the chances that your LTD claim will be approved or reinstated. If necessary, we will file suit against the insurance company with the goal of either obtaining a favorable settlement or prevailing on the merits.
We usually handle Long Term Disability claims on a Contingency Fee basis, meaning that we charge a percentage of the amount recovered and that, if there is no recovery, you owe us nothing. If your internal appeal is successful, we charge a percentage of the back pay that is owed, and we will advance any expenses.
As Long Term Disability lawyers, we approach every case with intelligence and experience. We are familiar with strategies and tactics used to deny legitimate claims. We know how to maximize the chances of securing the LTD benefits that you deserve.

The Process
It is not uncommon for Long Term Disability claims to be wrongfully terminated by insurance companies.
Many LTD claims are terminated after 24 months, when the definition of "disability" in the policy changes to whether you can perform your "own occupation" to whether you can perform "any occupation." Sometimes claims are terminated based on surveillance or for completely arbitrary reasons.
We can discuss your situation in your first consultation at no charge. Once we accept a LTD case, we will open a case file, gather documents and the necessary reports and take charge of the appeal or litigation process.
You can contact our office by phone or fill out our contact form.
Reinstated Claims and Settlements
If your LTD claim is in the internal appeal stage, our goal is to win your appeal, have the insurer issue a check for past-due benefits and have your monthly benefit reinstated. We charge a percentage of the past-due benefits ("back pay") and all future monthly benefits are 100% yours, free and clear.
If your appeal is not successful, we will file suit against the insurance company on your behalf. Most litigated Long Term Disability claims are settled. That is, you agree to dismiss the lawsuit and release the insurance company in exchange for a lump sum payment. We charge a percentage of the settlement. If there is no recovery, you owe us nothing.
